The new trio debuted as backing vocalists on "Rebel (With a Cause)", a track on Jermaine Jackson's sole album for La Face, You Said (1991). On the TLC Tip, was released on February 25, 1992, by La Face/Arista Records.
She was hospitalized, Lopes and Thomas stayed with her and some concerts were cancelled.
All three members of TLC are considered irreplaceable by the other members, and each of them has contributed equally to the group.
Following Lopes' death in 2002, instead of replacing her, the remaining members chose to continue as a duo.
